Light the first purple candle. This candle
represents Hope.
We can have Hope because God is with us and is Faithful to keep His promises He made to us.

the root of Jesse, And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles; on him shall
the Gentiles hope.
13. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in
believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
This candle is also the
"Prophecy" Candle. The Prophecy Candle represents the prophets who
foretold the birth of Jesus.
Jeremiah 23:5-6 (King James)
5. Behold the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgement and justice in the earth.
6. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, The Lord Our Righteousness.
