Week1 Day 2 Isaiah 9:6

December 1, 2014
Light the first purple candle. This candle represents Hope.
We can have Hope because God is with us and is Faithful to keep His promises He made to us.

Romans 15:12-13 (ASV)
12. And again, Isaiah saith, There shall be the root of Jesse, And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles; on him shall the Gentiles hope.
13. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

This candle is also the "Prophecy" Candle. The Prophecy Candle represents the prophets who foretold the birth of Jesus.

Isaiah 9:6 (King James)

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

In the past we made salt dough ornaments on one night and the next night we painted them. Because of our gluten sensitivity, we no longer make salt dough ornaments. I now order our ornaments to paint from PlasterCraft.com  (will post pics of these soon)

Pics one year when we did salt dough ornaments:
